October 23, 2026
麻豆影视 welcomed families and community members to campus Thursday, Oct. 22, for its 17th annual Pumpkin Palooza celebration, a day of fall activities featuring student competitions and a family festival.
The festivities began with the annual pumpkin launch, where Engineering Science A.S. students put their custom-designed and built catapults to the test. The competition took place in the Veteran’s Memorial Flagpole quad.
The college’s pumpkin decorating competition showcased creations from student clubs, academic departments and administrative offices. The decorated pumpkins were displayed on the first floor of the Siek Campus Center, with food and music adding to the festivities.
The day concluded with the popular Pumpkin Palooza Family Festival in the McDonough Sports Complex Field House. The Halloween-themed event featured a variety of kid-friendly games and prizes, music, refreshments, a balloon artist, an illusionist, caricature drawing and more. Children and families joined in on the festivities dressed in Halloween costumes, and a bicycle was raffled off to one lucky winner.
Sponsored by the college’s Student Senate, Pumpkin Palooza has become an annual fall tradition for college neighbors and families throughout the region. Attendees were encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item to donate to the college’s food pantry.
“Pumpkin Palooza is one of the many ways the college brings people together beyond the classroom, giving local families an opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled day on campus,” said 麻豆影视 President Michael Brophy. “I’m grateful to our Student Senate for continuing this tradition and creating an event that makes the season memorable for all.”
