A few key decisions can make a big difference in the amount of your Social Security benefit. Attend this hands-on workshop and learn strategies to get the most money from Social Security. Learn how to plan for taxes, health care and other costs during retirement, as well as how to wisely grow and protect your retirement income. This session will cover key Social Security benefit choices, such as individual and spousal options, and help you understand simple steps to maximize your benefit. Join us before you make financial decisions that may not be able to be reversed. Course fee includes a $5 materials fee.

Medicare 101

In this class, your instructor will provide step-by-step instructions on everything you need to know about Medicare. The instructor will advise on all that needs to be done (and everything that doesn鈥檛), as well as go over the A/B/C/Ds of Medicare and educate you so you won鈥檛 have to worry about penalties.

NYS Notary Signing Agent

If you are currently a New York State notary public and want to earn additional income with your current notary commission, this course is for you! After completing this basic introductory course, you will have the opportunity to work on a freelance basis with mortgage, title and signing companies who will hire you on a per-job assignment, where you may earn from $75 to $150 or more for notarizing and presenting mortgage loan documents. All materials are included in this course, which features a step-by-step guidebook, sample loan documents, mortgage glossary, and a mock demonstration loan signing. Students that need to withdraw from class must do so five business days prior to the start of class for a refund. This course is taught remotely via Zoom.

Notary Public Review Workshop

This workshop prepares you for the New York State notary public test and provides a comprehensive overview of the notary public鈥檚 role. Confusing laws, concepts and procedures will be explained and clarified, with examples provided. Topics include avoiding conflicts of interest, maintaining professional ethics, charging proper fees, handling special situations, determining when to defer to an attorney, and minimizing legal liability. This workshop is a must for candidates who want to become fully aware of the authority, duties and responsibilities involved in becoming a notary. All materials will be provided, including a 64-page workbook, sample forms, and an 80-question practice exam. Students that need to withdraw from class must do so five business days prior to the start of class for a refund. This course is taught remotely via Zoom.
